Goal: Burns & McDonnell engaged John A. Marshall Co. to help establish updated furniture standards for their expanded 102,000-square-foot office space in Kansas City, Missouri. Working closely with the client, our team developed refreshed workstation, private office, and meeting space solutions across two floors. While staying within the framework of their existing standards, we were tasked with giving the environment a modern and elevated twist.
Scope: In partnership with the Burns & McDonnell Facilities team, we designed, refined, and finalized standards for workstations and private offices. We carefully sourced a range of ancillary furniture options to accommodate various environments, including meeting rooms, training areas, work pods, and break spaces. Multiple seating solutions were evaluated to ensure optimal ergonomics for their staff. Finally, our commercial flooring division, FDC Contract Flooring, worked closely with Burns & McDonnell’s construction division to provide carpeting throughout the facility.
The result is an energizing, yet highly functional workplace that meets the diverse needs of its teams across both floors. Abundant natural light and scenic exterior views also enhance the welcoming atmosphere.
The furniture installation was carried out by our skilled in-house team, adhering to a client-driven, expedited timeline. Both floors, encompassing 660 workstations, were completed within a six-week period, two weeks ahead of the standard eight-week schedule for comparable projects.
