Goal: As part of their Strategic Master Plan, the Sedgwick County Zoo sought to complete a variety of improvement projects to coincide with their 50th anniversary taking place in June 2021. Projects included new exhibits, upgrades to their entrance and administration building, as well as an expansion of their gift shop. Their goal was to convey energy, positivity, and dedication to growing their zoo. The new administrative building, which our team was engaged to furnish, would replace the 60-year-old facility they had always inhabited. The Covid-19 lockdown of March 2020 would play a significant factor in the initial design process, as well as the completion of the project.

Scope: The John A. Marshall Co. team, working remotely, worked tirelessly via video conference calls to provide high-quality office and ancillary solutions, as well as interior design consultation. Together, they created a variety of settings within the new space, including private offices, workstations with collaborative areas, meeting and conference rooms, training rooms, and public spaces. With COVID precautions in place, our team was able to present their solutions in person using CET renderings and Scout project boards that met the client’s vision and was accepted almost exactly as it had been presented. The John A. Marshall Co. team provided all delivery and installation services, and the full project was completed on time and within budget for zoo employees and patrons to enjoy for many more years to come.
