OKC Team Helps Women Get Dressed for Success
When Oklahoma City nonprofit, Dress for Success, lost its building to a fire set by rioters, our Oklahoma Office donated design services and furnishings to help them get back up and running in a newly designed space.
As if operating during a pandemic wasn’t hard enough, Oklahoma City nonprofit, Dress for Success, was hit with a second blow when it lost its building to a fire set by rioters this past June. Through the help of many volunteers and local businesses, the organization recently reopened its doors in a newly designed, 5,000 square foot space in downtown Oklahoma City.
Dress for Success helps disadvantaged women within the community get back into the workforce by providing business attire for job interviews, along with assistance with resume writing and job searches. They also provide career advancement programs to help women identify and strive towards their personal and professional goals.
John A. Marshall Co. partnered with the architectural firm, Guernsey, on the project to create a beautiful space that would provide patrons with areas for consultations, training, and “shopping” for those important outfits to provide an equal advantage to other job candidates vying for the same positions.
John A. Marshall Co. donated design services and all furnishings for the project, including:
- Three Offices (including task seating, monitor arms, and markerboards)
- Filing/Storage Cabinets
- Reception Desk
- Training Center (tables, chairs, and markerboards)
- Two Open-Area Consultation Areas
- Dressing Room Stools
- Boutique Ottomans
- A Mother and Child Room
- Accent Pillows
"The team at Dress for Success was an absolute pleasure to work with during the planning and development of their new space,” stated John A. Marshall Co. interior designer, Crista Blue, who helped bring the space to life. “Hands down, these are some of the most deserving women to support, as they are so passionate about the work that they do in the OKC community.”
We would like to thank the following manufacturer partners for their support and contributions in helping bring this space to life for both Dress for Success and the women who utilize their services:
