Goal: The historic Midland Theatre, located in Kansas City’s Power & Light District, required a complete carpeting overhaul throughout its upper floors due to normal wear and tear received since its last update about 17 years prior.
Scope: Though our client favored custom products for the redo, utilizing them didn’t meet their budget or timeline goals. Our commercial flooring team worked with Bentley Mills and our client to find alternate options, including custom, to meet both objectives.
We installed new carpeting over padding within the facility’s upper-tiered concourse, the Main Theatre Chandelier Bar, and throughout the back-of-house areas, including public walkways. This included the removal and disposal of all existing carpeting as well. A large portion of the project also included the carpeting of stairways.
All work took place around the theatre’s scheduled evening and weekend shows, with a set completion deadline to accommodate a full-house show. Our team completed the installation promptly, finishing six days ahead of the expected deadline.
