Goal: Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City recently expanded their office space to include an adjacent building.  They needed a workplace that would support its mission, bring its team together, and provide a welcoming environment for collaboration, staff engagement, and organizational growth. Working alongside JLL and the BBBS executive leadership team, our team helped translate the organization’s goals into a functional, thoughtfully designed office environment that reflects the impact of its work throughout the Kansas City community.

Scope: We developed a furniture and workplace solution tailored to the organization’s culture, operational needs, and financial objectives. The design incorporates collaborative work areas, flexible meeting spaces, and furnishings that support a range of daily activities, from focused individual work to larger team gatherings, to outdoor rooftop and courtyard events.

To maximize the organization’s investment, our team utilized a design-build approach to evaluate furniture options across multiple price points. This allowed leadership to compare solutions, prioritize essential functionality, and make informed decisions while maintaining a cohesive design throughout the space.
The completed workplace balances durability, versatility, and thoughtful design with the practical needs of a mission-driven organization. The result is an inviting, adaptable environment that supports employee productivity, encourages connection, and gives the Big Brothers Big Sisters team a space to continue advancing its mission of defending the potential of youth through meaningful mentoring relationships.
