Goal: Kocher + Beck, an international manufacturer of high-precision cutting tools, was seeking a complete refresh of its U.S. Headquarters, located in Lenexa, Kansas. Since they had previously worked with John A. Marshall Co. on a conference room project—and had a very positive experience with their designer—they opted to engage with her again to lead the charge.
The client desired a complete overhaul of their space and the utilization of higher quality furnishings than what previously existed. For employees, they wanted an open floorplan that provided options for some socialization, semi-privacy, collaboration, and sit-to-stand desking. For common areas, they sought to find a way to bring the outside in in a unique way. The color scheme would also need to complement Kocher + Beck’s corporate colors.
Scope: In addition to 360-degree interior design consultation and furniture selections, we provided new, custom carpeting throughout the space utilizing our commercial flooring division, FDC Contract. State-of-the-art roller shade systems were incorporated to manage daylighting throughout the space, at the touch of a button. For breakrooms, picnic-style tables brought the outside in, while seating with splashes of red reflected corporate colors throughout the room. We also provided all paint color recommendations for both the interior and exterior of the building. The result: a transformed, modern space that reflects the Kocher + Beck and its employees.
