BerganKDV
While navigating a strict deadline, a tight budget, and supply chain issues might make designing a new workplace seem daunting, our Lenexa team made it their mission to make it possible for our client.

Goal: BerganKDV, a professional services firm with an experienced team of experts dedicated to helping make businesses smarter and safer, had a moderate-sized office in Lee’s Summit, MO, plus multiple locations throughout the Midwest.
BerganKDV wanted a comfortable, productivity-centric, contemporary workspace that would both attract and retain employees of all age groups in their newest location at I-435 and Holmes Road in Kansas City, MO. Due to a tight deadline to occupy the space, they needed partners to help them navigate the current industry-wide supply chain constraints and meet their desired budget. Our team utilized a design-build approach to determine the best solutions for their preferred price point.
Scope: Our team partnered with SFS Architects to achieve their move-in deadline, desired spend level, and the requisite workplace attributes and space goals. Together, we created an environment that allows employees to work both independently and cross-functionally. Large and small conference rooms accommodate groups of various sizes, and an open lounge area, complete with a pool table, allows employees to relax and socialize. A Kansas-City themed breakroom provides a range of seating options to provide spaces to dine, entertain, work, and hang out. As employee wellness was also an important consideration, we provided ergonomic seating, monitor arms, and height-adjustable work surfaces in all work areas and private offices to promote a healthy work environment.
Our in-house installation team was able to provide schedule flexibility and accommodate construction delays when raw materials showed up late on the job site. Utilizing our JMPS lean processes, we pre-built (“kitted”) all the furnishings in our warehouse to help minimize on-site installation time. Our flooring division, FDC Contract, was responsible for all the carpeting, which allowed us to push the schedule, knowing we could depend on our crews to be reliable with a predictable amount of daily production. Therefore, the schedule was compressed on the back end, allowing us to make up some of the lost time from supply chain issues on the front end of the job.
