John A. Marshall Co. Celebrates 99th Birthday with Day of Giving
Kansas City employees dedicate time to giving back at Harvester's
This October, in celebration of John A. Marshall Co.'s 99th birthday, our Lenexa and North Kansas City teams joined forces to give back to our community by volunteering at local community food bank, Harvesters.
"Rather than celebrate this milestone exclusively with our friends and family, we decided that being in service to our community, while bonding as a team, would be more worthwhile. This is something we'd love to incorporate in our Wichita, Oklahoma City and Tulsa locations later this year," said Managing Partner, Stephen Marshall.
During three two-hour warehouse shifts, our teams packaged 304 boxes of food staples for senior citizens, as well as divided 1,515 pounds of carrots and 2,016 pounds of potatoes into family-sized portions to be distributed to those in need of help within the metro. In addition, employees donated bags full of most-needed food items to the cause.
"Our team was very enthusiastic, and it was great to see everyone laughing and working together, committed to a shared cause," Stephen continued. "I think many would like us to consider making our Day of Giving an annual event and expanding our services to benefit other local organizations. What will we do when we hit 100? Find out next year!"
