Schwan's Company
This pie factory’s breakroom is an attractive and comfortable retreat for shift employees to recharge during their downtime—and looks almost as delicious as the pastries they create.

Goal: Schwan’s Company desired an attractive, welcoming, and comfortable space for their pie factory team members to spend their breaks. The space and furnishings needed to accommodate employees utilizing the space to not only grab a bite to eat, but to recharge themselves mentally, functionally, and of course, electronically.
Scope: Our team collaborated with Hutton and the architect directly to help create a breakroom that depicted the architect’s overall vision for the space (think of a 3-dimensional “section view” of a piece of pie) utilizing bold combinations of color, furniture, height variation, spatial hierarchy, and quirky pie-theme decorative accents.
The John A. Marshall Co. team incorporated a variety of seating options, including booths, banquettes, café, bar and counter seating. Lounge pieces are also spread throughout the space to provide employees with informal areas to socialize with co-workers or relax on their own. All furnishings incorporate the company’s bright color scheme, resulting in a cheerful, functional environment for workers to enjoy their downtime.
