Goal: Our healthcare client needed to refresh one of their Cardiac Recovery Units to allow their staff to consolidate activities and efficiently support patients in the early hours of recovery from surgical procedures.
Scope: John A. Marshall Co. worked with the architect and client to provide furniture and casework solutions to meet the project’s goals. This included a modular nurse’s station, installed at the center of the space, with key areas for staff to easily “park and plug” their mobile computer carts. It also included ergonomic seating and space for additional staff members to comfortably sit and perform individual task work.
Modular casework was utilized within the Unit’s nutrition center and in patient bay areas, providing attractive and sleek storage options that matched the Unit’s aesthetic. Café seating was also placed in the nutrition bay for guests and staff to sit down, relax and enjoy a quick meal.
Patient bays were equipped with foldable guest chairs that could be hung up to provide additional space for guests or medical personnel. Several mobile patient recliners were also incorporated into the space, allowing them to be easily transported to other areas as needed.
All of our solutions were chosen to provide flexibility for the client and can be changed over time to adapt to the evolving needs of an acute care situation.
All furnishings and casework were delivered and installed by John A. Marshall Co.’s in-house team utilizing our proprietary John Marshall Performance System.
