John A. Marshall Co. Celebrates 100th with $100,000 Giving Initiative
Seventeen Nonprofit Organizations Gifted with Cash Donations
To celebrate John A. Marshall Co.’s 100th year, we created an initiative to give back $100,000, over and above our normal philanthropic budget, to non-profit organizations in the communities where we work and live—Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Wichita, and our home base, Kansas City.
Earlier this year, employees were asked to select key organizations they felt worthy of this award and were able to vote for their favorites. Each market was then able to determine how many organizations they wanted to award and the breakdown for each.
“What began as a single storefront in downtown Kansas City, MO in 1923, has grown to five locations across three states," said Stephen Marshall, Managing Partner. "When considering ways to celebrate John A. Marshall Co.’s 100th anniversary, it seemed logical to reward the communities where we have flourished. I also wanted our employees to have a voice in selecting organizations important to them for this initiative. I am pleased that we were able to provide funding to numerous groups serving a variety of causes in our hometowns."
